Sweet Wheat, wheat grass juice capsules

I frequently work in New York, which is where a friend, several years ago, introduced me to wheat grass shots in a trendy, neighborhood juice bar. “One shot is like eating two pounds of vegetables,” I was told. I paid about $5 a shot and there was always a line at the counter as people waited for their daily dose of wheat grass juice. At first, I was unsure if I would like the taste. I thought, “I can choke it down because, after all, it’s good for me.” To my surprise, I liked the taste and the slightly sweet, veggie aftertaste. I felt energized and less guilty that I was eating pizza on the road, since I knew I had had a good dose of vitamins and greens.

Each time I worked at that location, I stopped off for a wheat grass shot. As I was not working there regularly, I went in search of wheat grass juice locally. I tried local health food stores, but I soon learned that wheat grass juicers were few and far between outside of major cities.

Then I learned about Sweet Wheat and realized that there was, indeed, a convenient option for people who didn't have a local juice bar. I ordered a sample pack, loved the taste and the results, so I quickly ordered several bottles. For those who do not enjoy the taste as I do, Sweet Wheat makes capsules, so you can either take it in capsule form, or open the capsules and add water to make your own wheat grass shot.

I now have a wheat grass shot every morning and love the way I feel afterwards. For me, it provides an energy boost similar to caffeine, but healthier. If I workout later in the day, I'll have another wheat grass shot just beforehand, because I feel my endurance is greater when I take it.

I’ve mentioned in the past that we at OurFHP like to test out our products before selling them to make sure they live up to the manufacturers' claims. In this case, it worked in the opposite direction. Already a fan of wheat grass juice, I went off in search of a wheat grass product, one that would be worthy of OurFHP, and that’s when I found Sweet Wheat.

I’ve read numerous articles about the abundant benefits of wheat grass juice, well beyond the energy boost. See what Sweet Wheat can do for you!

Colosé Pro Intensif Lifting Gel

In order to insure that the products we sell live up to their reputation, we like to “test drive” as many as possible ourselves. This led me to try out the Colosé Pro Intensif Lifting Gel.

According to the manufacturer, in clinical studies, this product:
* increased overall collagen synthesis by up to 117%
* increased collagen IV synthesis by up to 327%
* increased hyaluronic acid synthesis by up to 267%
* reduced deep wrinkles by half
* faded smaller wrinkles and fine lines sometimes completely away
* and showed noticeable improvement within two weeks for every participant in the study

I wanted to see for myself if the Colosé Pro Intensif Lifting Gel was that good....I have been completely blown away! First off, you only need a small amount (which the pump dispenses) so a bottle lasts much longer than I would have thought. The second thing I noticed was that the gel absorbs into your skin completely within a few minutes so you’re not left with any greasy residue. The VERY first time I used the Colosé Pro Lifting Gel, my skin felt softer immediately. I can’t believe I’m even saying that, but it was true. Now I have been using it daily for about three weeks. My skin is softer, clearer and smoother than it’s ever been. The lines on my face are noticeably less visible. I’ve had people comment to me, unsolicited, that they noticed a difference in my face.

I started out slightly skeptical of the incredible data on this product but having used it, I am a complete believer. I’m definitely going to keep using it and am planning to get a bottle for my mother, mother-in-law and sister for Christmas; I was that impressed!

ATHANOR Edelweiss Anti-Aging Skin Care

Our Favorite Health Products now carries ATHANOR Edelweiss Anti-Aging Skin Care products.

Below are some extracts from ATHANOR's description of its Edelweiss Anti-Aging Skin Care cosmetics.

"Edelweiss - Leontopodium alpinum

Edelweiss, the most treasured flower of the Alps, grows in altitudes up to 2700 m/9,000 feet. In order to cope with the harsh environment and intense exposure to sunlight, the plant has developed several protection mechanisms, which our skin can benefit from when we apply a cream with Edelweiss extract: moisture retention, powerful anti-oxidants and its ability to absorb UV radiation.
Alpine Treasure

Through the centuries the Edelweiss flower has enjoyed great popularity in all of Europe's Alpine regions with the result that already in 1878 it was threatened by extinction. In an International Conference Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Italy agreed to protect the flower. Until then it was a custom amongst young men to pick the flowers as a token of love for their sweetheart. Edelweiss was also used in teas and herb infusions for a variety of illnesses from bronchitis and vascular problems to tuberculosis and diphtheria.
Research

In recent years, the high altitude and extreme exposure to draught and sunlight under which Edelweiss naturally thrives led researchers to investigate the protection mechanisms of the plant. The resulting research confirmed that Edelweiss extract contains very potent antioxidants and cell protection properties as well as anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial qualities. Those extremely beneficial qualities led ATHANOR to make Edelweiss extract the primary and most important ingredient of this unique cosmetic line."

We hope you will try the ATHANOR products, which are available at Our Favorite Health Products.

Take a Look at the FDA Web Site

Today we have news that major companies are receiving warning letters from the FDA questioning the clarity and correctness of health claims on their food labels. Do you want to see the letters the FDA sent?

If you have an interest in matters within the FDA’s jurisdiction, signing up for email alerts is a good idea. The selection of alerts available is well presented on a single page, a long single page, but a single page.

Interested in drug recalls? Subscribe to recall and alert information. Have an allergy to food coloring? Subscribe to color additive news. Or go to the site when you want the original input on a something you have heard about or read.

FoodSafety.gov is another interesting site, it is worth a visit.

The FDA requires Dietary Supplement labels to clearly state that a product is not designed to treat or cure a disease. That’s the rule. Companies can make claims, but have to have the back up on file and be ready to defend their claims. Self policing is infrequently a good idea, but the FDA was pressured to find a way to allow the sale of dietary supplements whilst protecting the consumer and this is the result. The FDA does not have the resources to review every dietary supplement on the market. It has to rely on input from consumers. It is not a bad compromise based on the requirements presented to the FDA.

As in all similar matters, supplement and food producers study the rules and look for ways to present their claims in the best light within the rules, frequently interrupting the regulations as broadly as possible.

Konsyl Original and SennaPrompt are not dietary supplements but Over the Counter, OTC, pharmaceutical products. They do not have the ‘These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. These Products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.’ disclosure on the label. The ingredients have been evaluated by the FDA and found to efficacious for the indications as noted on the label. The labeling is, however, closely monitored by the FDA to ensure that it is in accordance with FDA regulations and only statements approved by the FDA can appear on labels for these products.

Reading all of the news on Omega 3 will make your head ach

I have a theory.

Omega-3 is something needed in a good diet, so we are told by many experts. These experts are publishing studies at a phenomenal rate. Fish oil reduces depression, fish oil reduces heart attacks, fish oil is linked to longevity and on and on, many each day.

How much omega-3 we need is another matter. The experts do not agree. Which is not surprising as a fundamental requirement of being an expert is not to agree with other experts. Each expert has to stake out his or her own ground. So each expert has an opinion and it is near to but not the same as a number of other experts.

A good diet, or should we say one which satisfies the body’s needs, will result in a healthy body. Provided you do not counter balance the diets good efforts by being overweight, sitting around all day smoking.

So the theory is, omega fatty acids are a requirement of a good diet. A good diet will have various positive effects on your health. The healthier you are, the less likely you will suffer from depression, or a heart attack and you may live longer.

At this point we would like you think of the endangered fish species of the world and take an omega-3 supplement. But the recommendation to eat fatty fish twice a week also works. Or search out the vegetables and other foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids, but that may not be so easy.

Yes, we are fat.

I was in Zurich a year or so ago. I had only one meeting Friday morning and it ended early. So, I took a long walk around town. First a stroll on Bahnhofstrasse then along the river Limat, around the lake, over the bridge into the old town and back to the hotel. In all, a walk of several hours. After a while I noticed, I do not know why, a lack in my surroundings.

Where were all the corpulent people? Not one did I encounter. Not one. It was early in the year, before the time to see many tourists, but even the foreigners were thin, at least, by my standards. Once planted in my brain, the difference was startling. Why was everybody so not overweight? A few rotund women, nothing more and even they were not fat.

Online I went. Was there a major difference between countries? Had I noticed something?

The answer was a resounding yes. Some of the statistics available online are a little out of date, but the overall result is the same. We in the US are the gold medalists, with some 30% plus of the population classified as obese. The Swiss come in at the bottom of the pile with 8%, only ahead of Japan and Korea, both of which must have poor diets, by our standards. Japan and Korea have some 3% of their population classified as obese.

3D virtual tennis anyone?

There are so many opportunities to be fitter. Forget about the benefits of living longer, it’s a nice side effect, but not the objective, at least not mine. A real purpose, I feel, is not to be a burden to others and being healthier is the way to achieve that goal. Avoiding the need for help is the objective. Not all of us will succeed, an illness is an illness and we cannot avoid all illnesses. We should, however, try to avoid the avoidable. And to do this, exercise and weight control are top of the list.

My wife exercisers several days a week, walks and watches what she eats. I bought her a Wii a short while ago and she uses it in her program. Now we hear that the, seemingly advanced, Wii controller is on its way out. New game consoles will sense body movement and there will be no need for the Wii controller or any other hand held device. When they arrive, I am going to get on line.

Some of us find independent exercise very trying, but if you give us something to chase, you can run us to exhaustion and, from time to time, into the surrounding furniture. I hope the new systems will give me that option. I look forward to playing virtual tennis or squash, with a need to cover the whole court. A virtual tennis court is now in my plans. May be I can set one up on the grass outside and use a real racket. Are these systems going to be 3D?

These games could change the nation.
